Sep. 14th, 2015 - the windows are finally in and house locked-up. Now waiting on exterior plastering guys to do their lime-based color-pigmented (20mm) 2-coat rendering on outside; that should be fun with a pump :) Notice the adobe-style (rounded) reveals on the windows?

Sep. 16, 2015 - time to lay-out "soak holes" (1 for house and 2 for driveway). City will allow us to replace 2 of our soak holes with the 8ooo ltr EcoSac and re-size diameter as long as our volume remains the same or greater. We will drill for 3 soak holes instead of the planned 2 to allow for MORE Taranaki rain.

Sep. 24, 2015 - 4 soak holes completed to a depth of 5 meters each by 900mm diameter. We then place an oversized, 60" x 6" (1500x150) reinforced concrete lid over top and run 4" flexible plastic piping level between each hole and backfill. These lids had to be specially made for the right of way to carry a cement truck but the rich clay substrate meant we didn't have to line the holes.

900mm soakholes

October 9th, 2015 final color lime plaster to a depth of 1" (25mm) finished. Needs to be water sprayed every day for another week or so to help the curing process and not let the lime dry out too quickly.
